We had a wonderful stay. The host was very kind and welcoming, and the place was comfortable and relaxing. The scenery is absolutely stunning — mountains and ocean views all in one. At night, we went up to the viewing platform and saw a sky full of stars. It was truly beautiful. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing stay at this resort in Dominica—it truly felt like an escape into nature. The views were incredible, and the whole setting was peaceful and refreshing. One of the highlights was the food. Every meal was outstanding, and Chef Damien made the experience unforgettable. You can tell a lot of care and creativity goes into each dish—it was easily some of the best food I’ve had while traveling. The staff was warm, welcoming, and clearly proud of their country. They loved sharing information about Dominica, from local culture to must-see spots, which made the experience feel even more personal and meaningful. Laerie took such good care of us at breakfast and lunch, remembering our likes and dislikes, and sharing interesting information about the food and property. Visiting the open air spa is a MUST! I had two massages, which were the best I have ever received! Noreen is fantastic, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. We'd definitely come back. I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Fort Young Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and taken care of. The hotel perfectly blends historic charm with modern comfort, creating a unique and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, with stunning views that made every morning feel special. The amenities were top-notch, and everything was well-maintained. I especially appreciated the attention to detail throughout the property. Dining at the hotel was another highlight — the food was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The location is also unbeatable, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, Fort Young Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and luxurious stay. I can’t wait to come back!

Given the ratings/reviews & my experience with similar caliber properties around the world, I was disappointed in certain things. The security guard at the front gate of the property was extremely rude. Didn't welcome us but asked what we were doing there. Our driver was very taken back by his behavior & said he's never seen anyone so rude at this establishment. Two days prior to arrival, I was sent an email form w/ one of the questions asking when we'd be arriving. I selected the noon-2pm option & we arrived at 12:30pm. We were told that we were going to have to wait until 3pm to be taken to our villa. Check in had been advertised as 3pm, so I'm not exactly sure why they even provided a noon-2pm option on the form - it was misleading & set wrong expectations. They took our luggage to the villa & told us we could utilize the pool or beach while we waited. Well, our bathing suits were in our luggage so they had to fetch our luggage so we could change into our bathing suits. 3pm rolls around and no word. We ask at the pool bar & someone comes to us at 3:15pm to let us know we would be picked up in about 15min. Having to wait until AFTER the advertised check in time when we had been waiting 3hrs was extremely irritating. Another disappointment was the lack of bathroom toiletries that would be default at other places of this cost. Blackout blinds on 3 walls of windows but not the 4th in the bedroom. The view, privacy, activities, & hostess were great.
